The talk is included in the Thematic Session Called “Error-Aware Systems: Opportunities and Challenges for Handling Errors at Multiple Levels” on Friday October 10th.
Some abstract about the talk:
Evaluation of the reliability of a computing system is a very challenging task in the early phases of its design when important details of the system hardware and software are unknown. Accuracy of the early reliability evaluation is however critical to determine cost-effective protection mechanisms against hardware faults and avoid excessive area, performance and power budget allocation for reliability provisions. In this talk we discuss the challenges to evaluate reliability both early and accurately as well as potential contributions towards this aim.
